What is the SAT?

The SAT is a college admissions test taken by high school students, usually in 11th or 12th grade. The digital SAT has two sections, Reading and Writing, and Math. It is adaptive: the second part of each section adjusts to how a student did on the first. Scores range from 400 to 1600.

High school students planning to take the SAT for college admissions, whether they are starting fresh, aiming to raise a score, or preparing for a retake.

Questions about SAT preparation? Here are the ones families ask most. For anything else, your local center is happy to help.

Many students take it for the first time in the spring of 11th grade, which leaves time for a retake in the summer or fall of 12th grade if needed.

Most students do well with two to three months of steady preparation. Students aiming for a big score increase often start earlier.

Policies vary. Some colleges require scores, many are test-optional, and some consider scores for scholarships. Check the policy of each college your student is applying to.

No preparation can guarantee a particular score, and we will never promise one. What we can do is build the skills the SAT assesses and help your child walk in calm, prepared and able to show what they know.

We meet senior students where they are. Rather than building a separate personalized program, our tutors work with your child on their own school subjects, resources and upcoming assessments in tutor-led sessions, targeting where they are losing marks and building confidence for the exams.

Membership is billed weekly with no lock-in contracts. You can cancel with just 2 weeks notice and pause at any time.
