How Our VCE Support Works

Tutor-led support for Year 11 and 12 students, working through their own VCE subjects and resources.

Understanding the content

Tutors help students make sense of what is being taught in class, topic by topic, so they keep up rather than fall behind.

Assessments and assignments

Support planning, drafting and revising SACs and SATs, so nothing is left until the night before. The work is always the student’s own.

Exam preparation

Revision plans, practice questions and past papers in the lead-up to school exams and the VCE exams.

Calm and confident

Weekly sessions build routine, organisation and the confidence to manage the workload of senior school.

What is the VCE?

The Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) is the certificate Victorian students complete in Years 11 and 12. Most subjects are studied as Units 1 and 2, then Units 3 and 4. In Units 3 and 4, results combine school-assessed coursework (SACs) with end-of-year exams, and students’ study scores are used to calculate their ATAR. An English subject is compulsory.

Who is VCE tutoring for?

Students starting Units 1 and 2 who want a strong foundation, and students in Units 3 and 4 preparing for SACs and exams. The support is built around each student’s subjects and goals.

What we help with

  • English: text responses, analysing argument, creative and comparative writing
  • Mathematics: General Mathematics, Mathematical Methods and Specialist Mathematics
  • SACs: understanding the task, preparing, and reviewing practice responses
  • Exams: revision plans, practice exams and exam technique
  • Study skills: organisation, time management and consistent revision

How VCE support works at Success Tutoring

In Years 11 and 12 every student is studying their own subjects, so our tutors work on the work students have from school. Each week, students bring what they are studying and what is coming up, and their tutor helps them understand it, practise it and prepare for their next SAC or exam.

Why choose Success Tutoring for the VCE?

Built around school. We work on your child’s own subjects and SACs, not generic material.

Steady, not last-minute. Regular sessions keep students on top of the work all year.

Less stress. A plan and steady progress make exam season far more manageable.

Questions about VCE support? Here are the ones families ask most. For anything else, your local centre is happy to help.

Our tutors focus on English and mathematics, the subjects most students study and the ones that matter most for the ATAR. Support for other subjects depends on the tutors at your centre, so ask your local centre what they can offer.

The start of Year 11 is ideal: good habits and a strong foundation in Year 11 make Year 12 far less stressful. But it is never too late. Many students start partway through Year 12, before their exams, and still make real progress.

Yes. Tutors help students understand the task, plan their response, and review drafts against the marking criteria. The work is always the student’s own: we coach, we don’t write it for them.

Tutor-led support for Years 11 and 12 is offered at participating centres. Contact your local centre to check what is available near you.

We meet senior students where they are. Rather than building a separate personalised program, our tutors work with your child on their own school subjects, resources and upcoming assessments in tutor-led sessions, targeting where they are losing marks and building confidence for the exams.

Membership is billed weekly with no lock-in contracts. You can cancel with just 2 weeks notice and pause at any time.
